New Skomer Wardens too

If you were at the very successful Friends reunion last Sunday you know all this already but for those who didn't make it.

Chris is leaving Skomer for some research work on remote Orkney islands so there was a search for a new warden in dcember and a week or so ago the new people started work in Pembrokeshire before heading  for the island in 10 days of so.

They are Edward (Eddie) Stubbings and Birgitta (Bee) B├╝che doing a job share.

Bee joins us most recently from Norfolk Wildlife Trust where she was an education co-ordinator, but she has also worked as a marine ornithologist and as head of a bird ringing station as well as various other research and wardening posts.
Eddie has been the National Trust's ranger at Blakeney Point in Norfolk for the last eight years and has worked previously with both the NT and RSPB and as a self employed carpenter. They have a great range of skills between them and we look forward to welcoming them to the team.

We are very fortunate that Chris is able to stay with us in post until mid March so there will be a good handover period both on the mainland and then on the island (and we don't have to say our goodbyes just yet!)- many thanks Chris.
