In 2014 the Friends of Skokholm and Skomer won the 2014 Marsh Award for Local Ornithology for the fantastic refurbishment work they have carried out on the island. The award included a financial prize to be used on Skokholm and in this digital age we want to try and make sure that we continue to capture something of the day to day life on the island which is the history of the future.
There are a load of older images about life on Skokholm but rather few in recent times so this competition is designed to try and remedy this by encouraging the submission of images which show something of island life. We will then copy all the submissions (excluding duplicates or those which do not meet the criteria) into an annual book which will be available on the island for future visitors to look at and will also be lodged into the National Library of Wales archives.
The selected best four photographs will form the cover of the annual book and a copy of the book will also be presented to each of the winners with due acknowledgement. The winning images be selected by three of the Friends committee. The awards will be presented at the Annual Reunion meeting in February 2016.
